WELCOME BEAGLE PUPPIES HOME

HOME OF THE FINEST BEAGLE PUPPIES

Overview

The modern breed was developed in Great Britain around the 1830s from several breeds, including the Talbot Hound, the North Country Beagle, the Southern Hound, and possibly the Harrier.

Character

It makes both canine and human friends easily. The breed is outgoing, playful, cheerful, adventurous, and gentle, an entertaining companion for people of any age. Because of its independence and distractibility, it can be a difficult dog to train. Despite being fairly active outside, Beagles can be calm house dogs.

Temperament

Bred to hunt alongside other dogs, the Beagle is amiable and seldom squabbles with other dogs or pets. It makes both canine and human friends easily. The breed is outgoing, playful, cheerful, adventurous, and gentle, an entertaining companion for people of any age.

Care

Beagles are intelligent, sociable dogs that need daily exercise, mental stimulation, and proper training. They are also prone to dental problems, so you'll need to brush their teeth regularly

Coat

A beagle's coat is actually a double coat, which means it has a longer layer of hair with a shorter, softer layer underneath for temperature regulation. In addition, beagles typically have a tri-colored coat of black, white, and brown

Training

To train a beagle dog, prioritize using positive reinforcement techniques like treats, praise, and playtime, focusing on short, consistent training sessions with clear commands, as beagles can be easily distracted by their strong sense of smell and independent nature; key aspects include crate training, leash socialization, and desensitizing them to the training process with patience and repetition

Activity

Beagles, being naturally active and driven by their sense of smell, thrive on activities like daily walks, scent work (including hide-and-seek with treats), playing fetch, agility training, flyball, tracking exercises, and interactive puzzle toys that stimulate both their physical and mental needs; always ensure they are in a secure, fenced area due to their strong hunting instinct to follow scents
